I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC #249) in San Jose, California specializing in psychotherapy services for children, adolescents and adults who are dealing with a broad range of difficulties such as behavioral challenges, depression, anxiety, grief, ADHD, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and stressors of daily life.
My approach is to use Brief Psychotherapy techniques to help individuals develop strategies to overcome challenges that interfere with their daily living. I believe that counseling is a personal journey of healing and growth through which individuals can thrive even in the presence of adversity. I believe that the way we perceive events that occur in our lives determines our negative or positive responses to such events.
I obtained my education at San Jose State University. Master of Arts in Counseling and Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development. I completed the requirements for the Children Mental Health Credential and the Family Development Credential provided by First Five California, Santa Clara County. I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals in the Silicon Valley community. I have experience using traditional psychotherapy approaches and also working with clients to develop personalized strategies that meet their individualized needs.
I have been trained by Santa Clara County Mental Health in Trauma Focus Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Transformational Care Planning (TCP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Wellness and Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), The Seven Challenges substance abuse program for adolescents, Domestic Violence, Client Culture, and Law and Ethics.
